Date and venue
The Dubai World Cup meeting closes the 2026–27 season at Meydan Racecourse on Saturday 27 March 2027. The main race is run on dirt over 2,000 metres. Race night draws a crowd of tens of thousands, with fashion, hospitality packages and a concert after the last race.
The Dubai Racing Carnival builds up to it with race meetings at Meydan on most Friday evenings through the winter. See the racing carnival guide.
Where to stay
- Business Bay: the closest area with lots of big apartments, about 10–15 minutes to Meydan.
- Downtown Dubai: 15–20 minutes away, with restaurants and the Fountain for the days around the race.
- Meydan and Nad Al Sheba: quiet villa areas next to the course, good for families.
- Dubai Marina: a 25–35 minute drive, but a great base if the races are one part of a beach holiday.
Getting there and back
Meydan is off Al Meydan Road, close to Sheikh Zayed Road (exit 47 from the Abu Dhabi side). There is no metro station at the course, so use a taxi or a car service, and book your ride home in advance because demand peaks after the last race.
